BECCA MANCARI

When Becca Mancari played the Homegrown Stage at the 2018 Southwest Invasion, the buzz on her was hard to ignore. The attention continues for Becca as she resumes her tour in support of her debut album, Good Woman, which Rolling Stone magazine called “One of the Best Country Albums of 2017” saying “Taken as a whole, it’s the kind of album that gives you enough space to spread out and luxuriate.”

Mancari, who was raised by conservative parents (her father is a Pastor) that had to travel and move around a lot for her dad’s work, made peace with the fact that she was a “queer artist” even if it took her parents a little bit longer to come around. She told Nashville Scene, “My folks loved that I played music, and they did support me in that,” she says. “They definitely believed the music aspect [of my life], but they couldn’t get past some other things.”

Her debut album brings a depth, introspection and compassion that belies her years. Catch Becca Mancari on tour in the States before she heads over to Europe in September. http://www.beccamancari.com/tour/
