THE ZOMBIES INDUCTED IN TO THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME

Congratulations to 2015 SWI performers The Zombies on their induction in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Inducted on March 29th by Bangles singer Susanna Hoffs, The Zombies were nominated 3 times before getting the green light on try #4. After they were announced as one of the inductees, the Rock Hall said, “Innovative arrangements, gorgeous choral harmonies, and impeccable musicianship made the Zombies one of the most admired and influential groups of the 1960s.

The ceremony took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, a fact not lost on keyboardist Rod Argent who said, “It’s a wonderful coincidence to all of us standing here in Brooklyn, the site of our very first concert in America, where we did a Brooklyn Fox Show, Christmas Day 1964, at 8 o’clock in the morning.” Another fluke? The day of the ceremony was the 50th anniversary of their most famous track, “Time of the Season,” reaching #1 on the U.S. charts. After their induction, the band went on to perform “Time Of The Season,” “This Will Be Our Year,” “Tell Her No,” and "She's Not There” for the enthusiastic audience.

All four surviving members were in attendance (Paul Atkinson passed away in 2004), but only Colin Blunstone and Argent continue to tour as The Zombies. Visit their website for some upcoming dates: https://www.thezombiesmusic.com/live
